Hadopot oxo-biodegradable pot trial 5th October 2025
Plants growing in oxo-biodegradable Hadopots
North Devon is a fantastic place to live but one of the downsides is that our local recycling centres are currently unable to accept and process bulky recyclable plant pots which are typically taupe or grey coloured. The best alternative we’ve been able to find to trial this season are these Hadopot oxo-biodegradable plant sleeves. They last long enough for several short uses but will eventually degrade over time without leaving microplastics. Several thousand 1 litre pots can fit into a fairly small box. They are easy to use and retain moisture well. Our plants have developed a good rootball and established quickly when planted out. Plants are removed from the pot before planting as usual and then we would recommend they are re-used or recycled. Worst case scenario if these pots are left in a corner of the garden we are happy to know they will not be still be there in a few hundred years time. We are looking forward to using them again next season.
